Episode 4

Liz Drury: The one with the Fire Triangle

There are a hundred different ways to read a script - and nearly all of them are as valid as the next... and this podcast sets out to prove it!

In this episode Lincolnshire based voiceover Liz Drury joins Mark Ryes and Sam Boffin to mull over some scripts in different ways including a wildcard or two!

We'll also attempt to answer a burning question about voiceover life too!

The scripts we looked at are below... and we'd love to hear YOUR take on them - send your read on an mp3 to podcast@britishvoiceover.co.uk and we'll pick one or two to showcase in future episodes.

Script 1

In the beginning, there was chaos.

And now…

…hmm, still chaos!

If only you could maximise the potential of your warehouse space.

You’d benefit from increased throughput…

…overcome labour shortages…

…and fulfil orders faster.

Kerching!

But…how do you transform chaos into order?

You don’t.

Because at Acme, we do it for you.

Streamline your operations…

…and future-proof your warehouse…

…with Acme. Get in touch to find out more!

Script 2

Are You Ready?

Did you know that it only takes sixty seconds for a small fire that started at a socket to reach the ceiling? This speed means that every second counts, so:

•Are you prepared?

•Do you know how to recognise a fire hazard?

•Do you know what to do if you suspect a fire, spot a fire or smell smoke?

•If you had to evacuate, do you know what you are supposed to do?

•Do you think what you do know is enough?

Before learning how to put them out, it is important to know how fires get started in the first place, how they continue to burn and how they are extinguished.

About Liz: Liz Drury has been working as a voiceover artist for 10 years. She started her career in the USA when she was living there temporarily due to her husband’s job. She now works from her home studio in North Lincs for clients around the world. She works predominantly in the corporate sector and frequently gets hired to narrate e-learning courses and explainer videos, but what she really loves is a museum audio tour! When she’s not in the booth you find Liz out running with her lurcher Marble.
