Cromerty York: The one with the Early Jingle Bells!

In this episode of “How do you Say That?!”, Cromerty York joins Sam and Mark to talk about sleep stories, getting your mouth around accents and why ad agencies are already looking forward to Christmas! We also take a leap from France to Lapland in the festive wildcards.

Our VO question this week is all about maintaining a healthy work life balance as a voiceover.

Script 1

Fragments of a magpie legend her grandmother had taught her came to Hanako. Something about magpies forming a bridge across a river of stars, which allowed star-crossed lovers to reunite in the heavens. That story had always made Hanako smile. She could see her grandmother waving her arms around like magpie wings as she told the story. She had learned so many things at her grandmother’s knee.

Script 2

Just imagine, rows and rows, of freshly hand-made Belgian chocolates.

Rich Dark chocolates, and ohh-la-la creamy white chocolate, and delicious milk chocolates. Even Vegan and sugar free chocolates.

Well, Stop imagining. At PureJoy Luxury Chocolates & Gifts, we do just about every type of Chocolate. Whether you want to treat yourself, or treat someone else.

About our guest: Cromerty York was born in Staffordshire and moved to Luxembourg immediately after completing an IT degree, where she became proficient in German, French, and Luxembourgish. Cromerty relocated to Australia, though her Australian accent was less than stellar, and then to Switzerland. After that came Minnesota in America where she started working in voiceover. Minneapolis is considered, along, with LA and East Coast, one of the main US voiceover hubs. After a few years in America, Cromerty returned to the UK with her newborn baby. Cromerty's back in the UK now and loves the flexibility and challenges that voiceover offers.
