Jonathan Tilley: The one with the Dastardly Tech Script!

In this week's "How Do You Say That?!" Jonathan Tilley, voiceover and personal brand strategist, joins Sam and Mark to talk about promoting your vo business properly, why tech script is sometimes the worst, and in the wildcards Sam channels Sweden and Jonathan becomes horrifying!

Our VO question this week is all about how important it is for voiceovers to be present and engaged on social media.

We’d love you to join in and send us your version of one of the reads in today’s show – just pop it onto an mp3 and send it to podcast@britishvoiceover.co.uk

Script 1

If it’s a mainly adult audience - or students over 18 - then you may want to be a little more suggestive with the script and jokes. There could be topical contemporary references for your audience - local characters, news headlines, politicians, celebrities and so on. Rude jokes are essential and, depending on your audience, you may choose to include risqué language (though innuendo, double entendres and the threat of a swear word are often more effective than the real thing). Of course - you need to be clear in your advertising that this isn’t for kids - for example “Sinderella” so that you don’t have complaints at the end of the evening!

Script 2

With the filter frequency, you suppress interference on counter inputs F, J and, if applicable, W. With compressed VPTs, a frequency of 129 kHz is cyclically reset by default - meaning that signal changes shorter than 4 µs are suppressed.

The VPT_Definitive_Exchanger Technology object guides you in the configuration, commissioning and diagnosis of the position reflection and measurement features for the RB position output technology module in conjunction with VPT definitive exchangers - not to mention, the SP2_RAM Technology object enables you to easily configure ram counter-control of the SP 8x73VFRQ/5J RP analog input module for operation with an exchanger module and use it as the master program.
