Episode 74

Mars Lipowski: The one with the Juicy Evil Character!

In this episode of “How Do You Say That?!” sponsored by britishvoiceover.co.uk, Mars Lipowski joins Sam and Mark to talk about how to spice up very dry corporate scripts, bringing out the evil and why that's so much fun, plus a shiny floor gameshow host and a mum at the schoolgates feature in the Wildcard section.

Our VO question this week is all about what you should prepare for when creating a gaming demo reel.

Script 1

So what does customer intimacy really mean? We’ve split it into 3 key areas:

1. Understanding – through understanding what our customers want more clearly than the competition, we can better meet customer needs.

2. Influencing – through shaping what customers want, and lending them our international insight, we can be better placed to deliver for them.

3. Creating - through co-creating new solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow, we can be true partners to our customers.

Script 2

Mr Jefferson... we have learned that you’ve been purposely failing in your obligations to the company, claiming that apparently it contradicts your beliefs, have you not?...

So as of this moment you no longer work for us...

and any assets accumulated for your family during your employment have been seized. Mr. Jefferson, You have been very foolish thinking that playing against the largest space mining company in the world would be to your advantage.

About our guest:

Mars Lipowski, a multi award-nominated, bilingual voice actor, is like a high-street Polish delicatessen. World-renowned, traditional cold cuts, heart-warming, home-made preserves… lined with a loving heart, strong work ethic and resilience.

Mars grew up behind the Iron Curtain, around cinemas and theatre shows in a film maker family. This love for different areas of art spread across many planes of his life. He is a trained actor, BA of Fine Arts… and a full-contact karate instructor. Add audio designing skills, broadcast media background, a total love for voice acting and you get a guy, who can fist his way through a brick wall, while calmly reciting haiku with a smooth, mesmerising voice.

Some of the recent projects Mars has lent his voice to include: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II & III, Total War: Pharao, Age of Water and a Philips Saeco TV campaign.
