Katie Flamman: The One with Alice Through the Looking Glass

In this episode of “How Do You Say That?!” sponsored by britishvoiceover.co.uk, Katie Flamman joins Sam and Mark to talk about the intricacies of storytelling inside and outside the corporate world, and we showcase the amazing project from Brad Shaw as he produces Lewis Carroll's "Alice Through The Looking Glass" with no less than 175 different voice actors.

Our VO question this week is all about the tricks of making a corporate script become a proper story, but without the Once Upon a Time element!

Script 1

As companies strive to rely less on fossil raw materials, Carlton offers certification to track the use of alternative feedstock throughout the value chain to final products.

Within the supply chain, companies have three options to manage certified alternative feedstock.

One: Physical segregation ensures that certified alternative feedstock and fossil raw materials are kept separate throughout the entire supply chain.

Two: During controlled blending, certified alternative feedstock and fossil raw materials are mixed. At all times, the physical content of certified alternative feedstock is known and monitored.

Script 2

Number two: you pulled Snowdrop away by the tail just as I had put down the saucer of milk before her! What, you were thirsty, were you? How do you know she wasn’t thirsty too? Now for number three: you unwound every bit of the worsted while I wasn’t looking!

‘That’s three faults, Kitty, and you’ve not been punished for any of them yet. You know I’m saving up all your punishments for Wednesday week—Suppose they had saved up all my punishments!’ she went on, talking more to herself than the kitten. ‘What would they do at the end of a year? I should be sent to prison, I suppose, when the day came.
